If anyone has any ideas of places to apply to in the Santa Clarita area that would suit me well, please let me know. So far I have applied to:

• Best Buy (first choice)
• Albertson’s
• Ralph’s
• Staples (need to reapply; application probably out of database)
• Verizon
• Dick’s Sporting Goods
• Radioshack

Here are a list of applications that are in progress that I will send in once I get one or two more references, which I will soon:

• Big 5 Sporting Goods

• Payless ShoeSource
• Probably Best Buy again; the more references the better

Hmm. Putting out this list really makes me realize just how few places I have actually applied to so far. I could have sworn I applied to at least ten apllications so far, but I guess not. This post really helps me organize what I have done and what I need to do. Regardless of all that, I need a job.

Places I have looked at, but could not apply due to lack of jobs available:

• All Pro Sports (in the mall)

• Toxic (store in the mall)

I still need to get that second reference for all the jobs listed aboce needing references as well as:

• Borders (You can either do it with zero references or two. Obviously, I would prefer to do it with the references)
• Barnes and Nobles (need that third reference)

Applications I need to go pick up:

• Stater Bros.

So I still have a lot of opportunities to apply to places. As soon as I get that second reference (I have emailed an old teacher about it, but don’t expect a response until at least Monday), I have plenty more places to apply to. Boy, am I glad I was a really good student who the teachers and principal liked. That is really helping me out right now. Quite frankly, if I stayed at Canyon, I might be screwed at this point. If worst comes to worst, I could temporarily use my mom’s friends as references, although I would much rather have teachers who have seen my performance as references, which is why I am holding off at this point on using my mom’s friends as references.

I have not received any callbacks yet and do not expect any for a couple of weeks, although I will keep praying to get a job and hope for something before then. I need a job ASAP.

Of course, as a man of faith, I believe that every company that rejects my application, and me with it, that is just God telling me that working there is not a part of his plan for me. I find that extremely comforting. Maybe, there is a place that is even better for me to get a job at that I do not even realize yet. I am not worried. I know I will find a job that is a part of God’s plan. One that I will enjoy.

Altough I have never had a job before. I have talked to quite a few people that have one. Give them all a week and if they dont call you back. Than call them back and ask about your application. Also apply to restaurants throughout the valley. They could be hiring. For example, Jersey Mikes, or even fast food joints. I know they suck to work at but keep that in mind.
